Mardi Gras Season

It’s such an unexpected happy time of year… It CARNIVAL time.  I truly feel like this time of year is so fun because it is a FRESH start to the new year and it is also a time where all my Louisiana traditions are highlighted upon.  For the first time SETX is going to have Mardi Gras in Beaumont!!!  I am very excited to check it out. One thing I truly do miss about being here in Beaumont is that we don’t have a Mardi Gras Krewe. Growing up my family was a huge participant in Mardi Gras Krewes. My parents were involved in 2 krewes in New Iberia. I will never forget all the memories of participating the parades, balls and presentations. It was always great fun. Starting a Mardi Gras krewe in Southeast Texas is something I would definitely add to my bucket list. Comment below on your interest level in seeing Beaumont start a Mardi Gras krewe of its own. Maybe having SETX Mardi Gras is the beginning of that.  The photos above are my reminiscing of the many memories made last year for our kids Mardi Gras party. We have 2 children born in February, lucky us! Henry’s birthday this year falls on Mardi Gras Day. Audrey’s is earlier in the month. Although there are parts of me so sad that last year was likely our last huge Mardi Gras party at Avenue of the Oaks (we’ve sold the home), I am also excited that this party is being replaced with SETX Mardi Gras and I won’t have all the cleanup invloved.

February 15, 2020- The Symphony of SETX- The Romantic Spirit of Music 7:30pm Julie Rogers Theatre

February 21, 2020- St. Anne’s Catholic School Father/Daughter Dance

February 20-23, 2020- Mardi Gras SETX- Check out their lineup at http://www.mardigrastx.com I am most excited about both Roger Creager Band and Vanilla Ice. I hope I see you there!

And don’t forget… This year is a leap year which means we have one EXTRA day. Use this day to have a little family FUN because it falls on a Saturday!
